elements-6-box-300.jpgThanks to the latest technology, capturing unforgettable moments have now become extremely easy. Apart from digital cameras, cellular phones now come along with built-in cameras that make it a lot easier to take pictures and preserve these precious moments. But what about those pictures that you have taken way before digital cameras became a commodity?

Many people can get really frustrated and disappointed with numerous pictures taken with still cameras because of the poor quality of the shot. Even if you have managed to find the negatives and have them reprinted, if the pictures were poorly taken to begin with, having it reproduced will be useless. But that does not mean to say that these could not be salvaged. Using simple elements of Adobe Photoshop, you would be able to improve the quality of the pictures and keep the memories alive.

Here are some nifty ways to tweak your photos through Adobe Photoshop Elements 6 tutorials…

Cropping
You look fabulous in your high school prom picture, but you’d rather forget that guy standing right next to you. By using the crop tool, you can be able to keep a copy of your high school prom picture sans your ex-sweetheart. After scanning the picture and opening the file in your Adobe Photoshop, drag the cursor while holding down the left button on your mouse to select the area that you want to keep. Then click on Image and select Crop. You will be left with the selected area of the picture that you have highlighted.

Fixing the Angles

If your little one tried to take a picture and it came out slightly tilted, you can realign it so that it comes out straight. Simply select the measuring tool located in your menu toolbar on the left side of your screen. Click on one horizon of the picture that you would like to realign and then dragging it the cursor to the other end. This would fix up any minor misalignments. If it still looks a bit off, click on the canvas option and rotate it on the canvas until you are satisfied with it. The software will automatically expand the canvas to fill in the empty spots.

Color Touch Ups
If the lighting caused the picture you took to come up a tad bit too orange, you can also remedy this by adjusting the colors on the picture. Go to Image then select Adjustments and then Color Balance. It would open up a menu that would allow you to fix up the colors of the picture. Just drag each cursor to the right or to the left. Since Adobe comes with a preview feature, it would allow you to see the changes as you drag the cursors to help you make the picture come as close as how you remember it.

Sharpen
The most common of all pictures taken by film cameras is that sometimes they tend to look a little bit blurred. To bring out the details of the shot, select the sharpen feature in the Filter option on the menu bar. The program will automatically sharpen the details of the picture a little at a time. Continue the entire process until you are satisfied with the details of the entire picture.

Adobe Elements 7 Tutorial On How to Remove Shadows

Posted on 28. Sep, 2009 by admin in Elements 7, Elements Tools, Elements Tutorials, Elements Versions, photo shop elements tutorials, photoshop elements tutorials

Academic Adobe Premiere Elements 7_1.jpgIf you are like many people who happen to use a flash with your camera you are most likely seeing shadows in the backgrounds. But now you don’t have to bother. There are ways through using Adobe Elements 7 by which you can remove those shadows. Adobe elements are a great tool especially for the amateurs.

Whether you are a newbie or an expert in the picture taking field you probably know that the flash on your camera is great when you are trying to take pictures either indoors or out. However when you are using a flash on your camera it can also create certain problems if your subject happens to be a little too close to the background itself. This is how the shadow you see in the background of your pictures is created. When you are taking pictures for cash this can create some huge problems with your customers complaining to you about these shadows. There are ways that you will be able to fix this however by using the Adobe Elements 7 program, as you will discover here in this Adobe Elements 7 tutorial.

1.To begin you will need to clone over the shadow area in the background. This can be a difficult step for you to do. This is due to the fact that it may be hard to tell where the shadow ends and the picture begin. You will not be able to use the magic wand tool as you will see the same results. The alternative to this step then would be to go to your menu and choose the layer option, and then choose the new layer option. Now you will want to choose the Greyscale Mapping Color from the list that will appear and then click ‘ok’.

Next you can click on the gradient that is used for Greyscale Mapping color bar, which will call up the gradient editor. Once you have done these steps you are going to want to select the black to white feature. In the area below the presets you will now see that the tonal range is now set to black and white. Now you should take the white marker that is located below the scale and drag it across the left while you are also watching your picture. You will need to continue to drag it till you can define where the shadow ends and the subject begins.

2.Now you can go to your selection tools and choose either the wand or the magnetic lasso option. Once you have selected one of these you will need to click on the eye icon located next to the adjustment layer and shut it off. You are now going to select the background layer. Now you are going to want to take your lasso and roughly draw around the shadow.

3.Finally you are going to select your clone tool and begin taking detail from outside the selected area and clone them over the shadow. Once you have completed this your shadow will be gone.

Wasn’t that easy enough? Really hoped you enjoyed this Adobe Elements 7 tutorial!

ADO88572.jpgIf you are a seasoned Adobe software user you will definitely agree that with every new version of software that Adobe develops there is always something new. So do the new versions of Adobe software make the older versions become obsolete? Well the answer to such a question will be no, not at all you can still use your older versions of the software but only that you will be missing out from some of the new stuff that will be on offer in the newer versions.

Adobe started with the Photoshop photo editing software and it soon created another line of software the Elements software which was also for photo editing the only difference being that Elements was designed for the less professional photo editors. So with Elements one can edit their photos with so much ease.

Ever since the introduction of Adobe Elements there have been more and more versions coming every year and today the latest version of Elements is Adobe Elements 7. Adobe Elements 7 is probably the smartest version of Elements ever. The reason being that Elements software has increased the number of tools making it closely resemble the more professional version of Photoshop which are now being released as the Photoshop CS versions. So with Elements 7 you will be able to edit your photos just as if you had done it professionally with the Photoshop software.

Adobe Elements 7 is by the far the more user friendly version of all the previous versions of Elements. So what new things are in Elements 7 that are not found in the earlier versions of Elements? The following are some of the new features that you will find in Elements 7.

Elements 7 has an organizer which will allow you to label your images so you can easily sort and find them whenever you need them. This is very good for you can be working on some images simultaneously, so the organizer will allow you to sort the images as projects which you can access with ease. Then there is the fix feature. This feature will give you all the most commonly used tools when trying to edit an image. So the common tools you will be readily given will be the smudge, blur and sharpen tool.

The create panel which allows you to make a calendar, slideshow and so much more. So if you wish you can take an image go to the create panel and click calendar and you can make for yourself a personalized calendar with your desired photo.

The most impressive feature on Adobe Elements 7 is the share feature. With this feature you will be able to share your photo albums via the Internet using programs like face book and other community networks. You will also be able to send your image using the share feature via e-mail. If you wish to save your images on removable media the share feature allows you to copy your images on CD/DVD.

These are just some of the new features that are in Adobe Elements 7 which make it different from the other versions. The Smartest Adobe Elements Version

Posted on 29. Jun, 2009 by admin in Elements 7, Elements Versions

ADO88572.jpgWhen it comes to programs it can be very difficult to decide the best version that suits your needs. With Adobe Elements all the versions are quite effective when it comes to basic editing although which every edition you will find that new features always come in.

You will find that in the Elements 6 version you now have an e-mail tab as well as the burn to CD/DVD options. Another change that you will also be able to see in Elements 6 is that the interface has gone through a major refurbishment thus making it less clustered.

The newer version Elements 7 comes with features that are normally found in the more professional photo editing programs such as Adobe Photoshop. Elements 7 also comes with exciting features such as the auto contrast, auto color, auto smart fix features and smart brush which make the program so user friendly that you can edit photo just like the pros do.

The good part about photo editing programs like Adobe Elements 7 is that it has some of the features that are in Photoshop and if you are only interested in transforming the quality of your image Elements 7 will save you the money as there will be no need of buying a more professional program.

If you have an earlier version of Adobe Elements there is no need to panic for your program still works and is able to do basic photo editing although it is always advisable to move with time so you do not get left behind in terms of technology. So as an Elements user I would recommend you get yourself Elements 7 as it will not only save you lots of money in terms of purchasing photo editing software but it has many advantages.

One of the advantages of staying up to date with the latest software is that with brand new software you will be able to get a faster and efficient customer support. One of the reasons is that when a new software comes most users migrate to the newer version and with the more recent community networks users will be able to discuss their findings on the new software thus helping you as a user of the same software to even understand it better.

It is also good to know that when a newer version of a program is made available the program developers always make it a point that they offer discounts to the early birds. So it is wise to migrate to newer versions of a program early and it would be foolish to try and get it later when the new version has gained popularity and it thus becomes much expensive to purchase.

So if you are to ask me which version of Adobe elements you need. I would answer very boldly and say definitely the latest version as it is the smartest pick and not only will you enjoy photo editing in a newer dimension but you will also save lots of dollars in the process. If you need to Master Adobe Photoshop Elements in no time at all, so you can quickly and easily edit your digital photos, and impress your family and friends,  then this is definitely for you.  Click Here to receive a FREE Sample LearnElementsNow Video Tutorial…

Adobe Photoshop and Elements Software – Difference between Latest Versions

Posted on 27. Apr, 2009 by admin in Elements 7, Elements Tools, Elements Tutorials, Elements Versions

Photoshop-Elements-7.jpgAdobe has been able to create the elite in photo editing software at all user levels, but unfortunately everything seem very complicated at first, and even choosing the right software often seems a daunting task. The basic rules are that Adobe Elements is for beginners and Adobe Photoshop is better suited for more advanced users.

Step 2 is normally deciding which PS or PSE version will best be suited to your particular photo editing needs, but you would actually be surprised at just how similar each version is, although the latest edition has always got something new added. Personally I think that any Elements version will meet a newbie users needs, but when it comes to the more advanced Photoshop software, you may find the latest version for suited to an advanced Photoshop users needs

Currently the latest Photoshop version is Photoshop CS4, which has made great advances with added new tools that will produce the most amazing results. The Photoshop software is a lot more expensive than the Elements, so even a more advanced photo editor might find the new Photoshop Elements 7 is perfectly suitable, easier and a lot cheaper. The new functions include an excellent photo organizer and an extensive online component for Digital photo sharing as well as excellent online backup.

Adobe Photoshop Elements 7 provides two main functions, many of which can be found in Photoshop CS4, so if these functions are all you need remember that Elements 7 will mean big savings.

First of all there is the Organizer which allows you to view thumbnails and perform very basic photo editing and then you have the Editor, where gives total access to all of the photo editing functions. The Editor is simple to manage and allows  "Guided Fixes", which basically comprises of Wizards that walk you through step by step photo edits. The "Quick Fixes" calculate the optimum way to fix colors, lighting, and sharpness calculated upon either your input with sliders or whatever PE7 sees fit.

The Organizer is the easiest section to deal with on Adobe Elements 7, with tools like Auto Color and Auto Contrast. Things get a little more interesting though when you start to use the Auto Smart Fix tool that will allow you to transform poor quality images into photos worthy of a professional with just the click of a button.
