It is in the line of NT products and offers good backwards compatibility. This is from both hardware and software perspective.
Windows Vista is a continuation of the NT line of products, and not something completely new. As you might expect from an evolutionary upgrade, Windows Vista offers excellent backwards compatibility, both from a hardware and software perspective.
Windows Vista is compatible with certain versions of Adobe Premiere Elements. Those versions of the Adobe Premiere Elements which are compatible with Windows Vista of the 32 bit version, the 64 bit version of Windows Vista is not compatible. The 3.0 and 4.0 versions of Adobe Premiere Elements are supported on the 32 bit version of Windows Vista. To ensure the compatibility with Vista, you must first upgrade Adobe Premiere Elements to 3.0.2. The 2.0 and 1.0 versions are not supported on Windows Vista.
When you update your Adobe Premiere Elements to 3.0.2 version, there are certain improvements you get. The 4.0 version supports dual core or multiple processor systems like the hyper-threading technology and advanced multi-threading technology on the latest Intel Pentium processors which run on Windows Vista. For Windows Vista, the system requires a minimum of 1 GB RAM.
Initially when the Adobe Premiere Elements 3.0 version was recently released, it was not at all compatible with any bit version of Microsoft Windows Vista. Shortly after Vista became available to the requested customers, Adobe released the upgraded versions to run on Vista. The existing versions of Adobe Premiere Elements 3.0 can be upgraded by a free download available at the official web site of Adobe.
Depending on the type of media you work with, the minimum system requirements for Adobe Premiere Elements can vary. To optimize your Vista OS to give the required performance with Premiere Elements, you can customize it. This way you increase the system resources available and the applications run effectively. To improve the performance you can optimize your hard drive, delete the temporary files, and disable the unwanted applications running.
When you optimize Vista, you are eliminating the problems that can arise pertaining to the compatibility and interfering with video editing tasks. Always ensure that your hard disk speed is the recommended one for the application. You must also optimize the IDE disks and verify that the device drivers support Vista.
If you face further problems with the compatibility, it may be because the program is not installed properly. Due to this the primary functions of the program or system may not function properly. The clients using Vista are provided the KB932246, which contains the patches in the older release of the compatibility update, through the Windows update automatically. You can also download and install it manually.
The software compatibility is much better on the 32 bit version of Vista than the 64 bit version.

Photoshop Elements Tutorial – Adobe Elements Versus iPhoto
Posted on 10. Nov, 2009 by admin in Elements Tutorials, free photoshop elements tutorials, online photoshop elements tutorials, photoshop elements tutorials
Adobe Elements, as the name suggests is in the product line of Adobe and is image editing software. iPhoto is from Apple Inc. and is for Mac Operating Systems. This also is an image organizing software.
Elements and iPhoto are not comparable programs though they share some common features like the photo organizer, basic color correction and image correction features.
iPhoto is basically a photo organizer but Adobe elements is far more advanced and is an image editing software itself. Moving through the huge album of photos and making corrections to them is far easier in Adobe Elements than in iPhoto. Using elements, you can composite the various images you have and combine them to form one, or transform it to an entirely new one. If you just want to do the basic image correction tasks, then iPhoto comes in handy. You can even use Adobe elements and iPhoto together. In this case, using Adobe elements as your editor will be a better choice. You can import the photos into iPhoto and edit it using Adobe elements. For this you will have to set the option to ‘Edit’ in External Editor in the iPhoto menu. iPhoto is not that an expert tool for editing your photos. And if you are a professional working with editing images, Adobe Elements is the right choice.
Adobe Elements has much more editing options that iPhoto as it is an editing software and iPhoto has more organizing options. The organizing features of iPhoto are keywords and non destructive editing. It is easy to use books and calendars in iPhoto. Whereas the benefit of using Adobe Elements is that there are three ways of editing images. The latest in the line, Adobe Elements 6 for Mac stands up to the expectations of the users. It is aimed at both professional as well as amateur users. And it is possible to use iPhoto along with Adobe Elements 6. Nowadays in some packages you can purchase the iPhoto along with the Elements. In the package charge, you will find that iPhoto is provided free of cost. This package can include Adobe Bridge and a raw image converter also.
Apart from editing images, Elements provide lot of options in adding effects to the images. This is not possible in iPhoto. Along with Elements comes the Bridge that helps you to assign the metadata keywords to the images. In iPhoto you can add only the proprietary keywords. Using Elements, apart from organizing your photos, you can also share it by creating scrapbooks, online albums, and in many more creative ways. Another drawback of iPhoto is that when you start using it, it sometimes changes the folder structures you have created.
Also you cannot use Adobe Bridge and iPhoto together on the same images. This is because the keywords and the metadata of the photos crash the iPhoto when viewing these images using the program. And when you export the photos from the iPhoto, the program writes the keywords and titles corresponding to the images in the respective IPTC fields.

One of the recent techniques that have gained immense popularity among photographers is the feature of creating a jigsaw picture from your existing picture using Adobe elements.
Check out this Photoshop Elements tutorial on how to create a jig saw picture out of your original picture:
1.Open your current picture in the editing program. Click on to the option, "Filter" to select Texturise and click on the option of load texture on the list. You will find the option of puzzle texture from the parent load texture option. This will open a texture editing box with your original picture transformed into the jigsaw format. Now, you can increase or decrease the percentage of scaling to accordingly adjust the pieces. Increasing makes the pieces bigger which helps you to easily carry changes in the picture. It is advisable to set your scaling percentage at 150 % to create more manageable pieces.
2.Now click, Control +A to select the entire image. Cut and copy that image to a new layer by clicking on the icon layers palette and paste. You will see that a new layer has appeared with your picture on it on a new white background.
3.Now increase the canvas size by 20 %- 30 % so that a huge canvas gets spread around on a large layer. This can be done by clicking on image, then on resize option and then on canvas size. Change the size accordingly.
4.Now pull the image from the edges to change it to the shape of a jigsaw. This can be done by clicking on the option of Select image, then transform and then skew to adjust the picture.
5.Next, draw several pieces on the jigsaw picture using Magnetic Lasso. Now cut and paste each selection in a new layer. Then, directly move each piece out of the jigsaw using Move tool. Rotate these pieces so that they give a scattered appeal. This new picture that you get is almost complete unless you want to enhance its appeal by adding a human element to it.
6.To add a personal or human touch to the picture, click your hand with your thumb and index finger positioned in way that it looks like you’re holding something. Shoot this picture on a background with a neutral color. Cut and copy this picture.
7.Paste this picture on your jigsaw and resize it accordingly so that it looks like natural puzzle. Using an eraser, rub the background encompassing your hand. Use the brushes to remove the edges and make it a look more smooth and easy to flow.
8.Now take a picture of a jigsaw and place it in between your thumb and index finger. Rub out the extra background and edges. Regroup the hand and the layer of puzzle piece using move tool.

Adobe Photoshop Elements Video Tutorial Explores Setting Your Photos Straight Using Adobe Elements
Posted on 07. Sep, 2009 by admin in Elements Tutorials, Elements Video Tutorials, online photoshop elements tutorials
If your photos are crooked or were scanned into your computer at an angle you don’t need to toss them out. Instead, use Adobe Elements to quickly and easily straighten them out again. Here is an adobe photoshop elements tutorial that reveals how you can use Adobe Elements to straighten your crooked or tilted photo.
Two of the main tools you will use include the measure tool and the crop tool. We use the measure tool to define the level of the picture and straighten it. This is done by selecting the measure tool from the menu and clicking on the background of your photo and dragging it in a straight line to the other end. Doing this sets the level of your photo. Using this tool you can also level items such as roof lines as well as shelves or anything that should be in a straight line. Next you want to select the rotate canvas option to rotate the image and fix it on the canvas. You should see the canvas expanding to match the size of your photo. Finally you will want to use the crop tool to cut the extra unwanted edges.
When you use the crop tool you have the option of cropping and straightening at the same time. To use the crop tool you will want to select it and click and hold your mouse, creating a rectangle around the part of the photo that you wish to keep. You will want to position the horizontal edge on the horizontal line to set the level of the image. Again, you may be wanting to fix a roof line or an edgy shelf instead of a horizon which needs to be fixed in a perfect horizontal position. Now you want to drag the marquee so that its edge merges with the horizon line. This is done to align the edge to a horizontal position.
After you have fixed one edge repeat the steps to align the rest of the edges. Please note however that if you want to fix vertical lines on your image you do not want to align them with vertical borders. To correct these you want to use the ‘perspective’ option available in the option bar. The perspective option allows you to correct the vertical lines by fixing the corners of the boundary meant to be cropped to the right perspective. Make sure to keep all the corners in the assigned document.
While the perspective element is not immediately available with Photoshop Elements it can be activated by converting the chosen background into a layer by double clicking on the background. With the rise in the popularity of digital cameras also comes the increased amount of tilted and crooked photos. They usually occur when the photographer clicks the shutter while keeping the camera straight and looking at the back screen. This has the tendency to distort the photo by making it disproportionate. With these tips you no longer need to take 4-5 of the same shots of the same subject. Repetition not only wastes your camera’s battery but the memory as well. Easily rid yourself of tilted photos with the amazing tools included inside Adobe Elements.
