Photoshop Elements Tutorial – How Compatible Are Adobe Premier Elements With Windows Vista

In the product line of Adobe, Premiere Elements is wonderful video editing software useful for amateurs and professionals alike. Windows Vista is a continuation of the NT line of products, and not something completely new. As you might expect from an evolutionary upgrade, Windows Vista offers excellent backwards compatibility, both from a hardware and software perspective.
Windows Vista is compatible with certain versions of Adobe Premiere Elements. Shortly after Vista became available to the requested customers, Adobe released the upgraded versions to run on Vista. The existing versions of Adobe Premiere Elements 3.0 can be upgraded by a free download available at the official web site of Adobe.
Depending on the type of media you work with, the minimum system requirements for Adobe Premiere Elements can vary. To optimize your Vista OS to give the required performance with Premiere Elements, you can customize it. This way you increase the system resources available and the applications run effectively. To improve the performance you can optimize your hard drive, delete the temporary files, and disable the unwanted applications running.
When you optimize Vista, you are eliminating the problems that can arise pertaining to the compatibility and interfering with video editing tasks. Always ensure that your hard disk speed is the recommended one for the application. You must also optimize the IDE disks and verify that the device drivers support Vista.
If you face further problems with the compatibility, it may be because the program is not installed properly. Due to this the primary functions of the program or system may not function properly. Photoshop Elements Tutorial On How To Create A Two Tone Picture

Photoshop Elements is one of the best consumer-driven software that support easy-to-use features to produce a ten-on-ten perfect picture. This software has given immense boost to an artist to create and experiment with various features to carve a larger than life picture. Its easy to use features have made challenging tasks like correcting a blemished picture, changing the back ground, enhancing the resolution of the picture and now creating two different tones in one single picture, a child’s play. Bringing forth its new feature of creating two tones in a single picture, the software allows access to all possible experiments to make your picture perfect.
The technique of creating two tones in one picture involves the conversion of a colored picture into black and white with a unique sepia effect. This effect enhances the appeal of your picture by rendering it an old classic look. To transform your picture into a two toned black and white picture, follow the below pointers:
First and foremost method of changing the tone of your colored picture to black and white is by using the easy-to-access hue and saturation layer method. This method completely de-saturates all the livid colors in your picture and transforms it into a colorless black and white picture. Now, after acquiring the desired picture, it is advisable to create a duplicate background and name it accordingly. Next, you have to separate the shadows and highlights from your picture. For this, go to the layers pallet and click on "create new fill" to select "Threshold". Selecting ‘Threshold’ will transform your picture into black and white. You will notice that an adjustment slider has also opened up. Now on the slider, keep changing your picture until you are satisfied with the separation of black and white quotient in the picture.
Now, you have to create around two hue and saturation layers. These will be two pictures, one being the inverse of the first one. Then click on the ‘magic wand’ tool to check if the tolerance is 100 percent. Now select the entire white portion on the picture by clicking on any white portion in your image. You can blend this white color a bit for better effects by selecting the option, "Feather" and converting its radius to 15 pixels.
Now when you select the option, "create a new fill", you will observe that a new layer opens up containing the mask which absolutely resembles your picture. After this, save this new layer by clicking ‘Ok’ and rename this new layer as Highlights.
Select the option, "magic wand" for the last time and this time clicking on the black colored area in the picture. You can feather selection one more time to build another saturation layer. Click on ‘Ok’ and save this new layer as ‘shadows’.
As the last step, click on the ‘Threshold’ layer to turn it off, to open the adjustment layer named, ‘Highlights’. Select the color box and adjust its hues until you are happy. Fix the saturation as well. Repeat the same steps for Shadow layer as well. You will meet the desired results.

Adobe Elements 7 Tutorial To Enhance Your Black And White Photos

Here’s how to enhance the quality of your black and white pictures using Adobe Elements 7:-
1. The first and the foremost step is to convert your existing picture into an absolute black and white picture. This should be done using the feature of RDB that converts colors to grayscale. To do this, click on to the image to get through mode. In the mode you see an option of grayscale. After clicking on that, you will observe that all the live colors of pictures are faded with no access to incorporate other effects like sepia et al. Therefore, you could simply avoid this option and choose another one. You can remove the color of your picture by going to the "Enhance" option, then go to color and in the last, go to "remove color". This fill eliminates all the colors in the picture, however, allowing the access to toning and incorporating other color effects in the picture.
2. Now to adjust the contrast level in your picture, click on to enhance, then auto levels and finally auto-contrast. This will make remarkable changes by improving the brightness of the areas of the object in the picture; it will however have no effects on the background of the picture. You could try another option instead of this one. Click on flash mode to reach ‘enhance’ and then click ‘fill flash’. This option is best chosen for those photographs taken in broad day light where the subject needs little resolution and color enhancement. These steps will help you clear off the shadow and improve the clarity of the picture.
3. To further adjust the contrast in the picture, go to ‘enhance’, then ‘brightness’ to reach to ‘contrast’. On clicking ‘contrast’ you will see a tool box opening which details you on the pixels of brightness existing in your picture. Now this tool box will also have the option of adjusting the brightness of your picture. The graph in the left shows the percentage of shadow in the picture. Similarly, the graph in the middle and right show middle tones and brighter tones respectively. You can drag the slider to adjust the tones in your picture accordingly.
4. Though with these steps your picture would be almost ready, however, you can still invest some more time to better it to perfection. Click on to the blend modes and create a duplicate layer where you can blend your picture with different modes and settings. You can make darker areas go lighter and vise-versa by making changes in its pixels. Reduce the opacity of the picture by using the filtering effect on the topmost layer. Finally, you can add sepia effect to the picture by clicking enhance and then click on to ‘color’ to reach the option of hue/saturation slider.
