To ensure the compatibility with Vista, you must first upgrade Adobe Premiere Elements to 3.0.2. The 2.0 and 1.0 versions are not supported on Windows Vista.
When you update your Adobe Premiere Elements to 3.0.2 version, there are certain improvements you get. The 4.0 version supports dual core or multiple processor systems like the hyper-threading technology and advanced multi-threading technology on the latest Intel Pentium processors which run on Windows Vista. For Windows Vista, the system requires a minimum of 1 GB RAM.
Initially when the Adobe Premiere Elements 3.0 version was recently released, it was not at all compatible with any bit version of Microsoft Windows Vista. Shortly after Vista became available to the requested customers, Adobe released the upgraded versions to run on Vista. The existing versions of Adobe Premiere Elements 3.0 can be upgraded by a free download available at the official web site of Adobe.
Depending on the type of media you work with, the minimum system requirements for Adobe Premiere Elements can vary. To optimize your Vista OS to give the required performance with Premiere Elements, you can customize it. This way you increase the system resources available and the applications run effectively. To improve the performance you can optimize your hard drive, delete the temporary files, and disable the unwanted applications running.
When you optimize Vista, you are eliminating the problems that can arise pertaining to the compatibility and interfering with video editing tasks. Always ensure that your hard disk speed is the recommended one for the application. You must also optimize the IDE disks and verify that the device drivers support Vista.
If you face further problems with the compatibility, it may be because the program is not installed properly. Due to this the primary functions of the program or system may not function properly. The software compatibility is much better on the 32 bit version of Vista than the 64 bit version.
